What rights do you have under UK GDPR?
UK GDPR gives you eight rights over your personal data.
- To be informed about how your data is used.
- Of access: to get a copy of your data.
- To rectification: to have wrong data corrected.
- To erasure: to have your data deleted.
- To restrict how your data is used.
- To data portability: to take your data elsewhere.
- To object to how your data is used.
- Rights about automated decisions, including profiling.
The pages of this site collect no personal data, so most requests will be about emails you have sent to the contact address. What this site collects, in the privacy policy.
How do you make a request?
Email [email protected], say which right you are using, and give enough detail for the request to be found and answered.
You do not need to use any set wording. A request is usually free, and should be answered within one month, or you should be told within that month if a complex request needs longer.
How can you complain to the ICO?
The Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK regulator for data protection, takes complaints online at ico.org.uk.
The ICO usually expects you to raise the problem first, by email to [email protected], and to give it a chance to be put right.
