Which excuses come up every single time?
The same dozen excuses account for almost every idea that never gets started.
- When I have more money.
- When the kids are older.
- I need to learn X first.
- The timing isn’t right.
- Someone is already doing it.
- I don’t have the contacts.
- I’m not a natural at sales.
- I’ll start on Monday.
- I need a website first.
- I want to do it properly.
- My partner isn’t supportive.
- I’m just not ready.
- Then say the next action.
What do the excuses have in common?
Every one of those excuses places the missing piece somewhere outside your control.
What replaces the excuse?
An excuse is replaced by a next action with a date on it, and nothing else will do.
You do not need a better excuse. You need a worse one, so that even you stop believing it.
